Now £I.65!! We now only get one post delivery a day. Another failure, privatisation where public service has been sacrificed for profit.
It’s no wonder they are losing money, people simply won’t pay those ridiculous prices. I haven’t bought stamps for almost 5 years now, I only post something if it’s in a pre paid return envelope. Last time was the voting forms.
All I can say is “Bloody Hell” that’s $3.30 a letter. My pensioner concession stamp is 60 cents per letter, normal postage is $1.50 (I think)
When you look at the relative size of the two countries ours is a bargain.
When my parents lived somewhere in Queensland, a suburb of Brisbane, their post got delivered as far as the local Post Office 20 or 30 miles away.
who needs more than one delivery a day, thats more junk mail
I too will not be buying stamps,i shall be doing a lot of text messages.
Some people are missing appointments because their post is not arriving on time.
thats what the press are saying, gets them money coming in
I went paperless years ago.
I should have mentioned that this year, because there is just not enough mail, our suburban mail deliveries went to every other day. PO Boxes and collections are still daily.
It took my daughter’s birthday card using my concession stamp a week to get from Wollongong to Canberra (a 3 hour drive). It is reliable but not fast (unless you pay extra)
Correct - normal postage is $1:50 per stamp.
because mail is no longer sorted locally but all gets sent to city to sort - I could post a letter to my neighbour which would go to city to get sorted and then get sent back - and would take a week.
I post anything in Australia, I allow a week for delivery
