A Christmas Cheese thread

According to Mr Wiki the Swiss have been using these since 1291 - but I had not heard of them before.

Saw one in John Lewis a few years back. Not cheap!!

My neighbour just gave me some brie for a Christmas treat … and I can’t face eating after now … especially when Judd described it as … one week old phlegm…

My first ever sandwich toaster was a bit like that. Now I have one with removable plates so very easy - thank goodness - as I love toasties!

Just remembered - when we were children we had one that you put on the gas stove - it was round, opened out flat - you put in the bread and whatever filling - closed it up and put it over the gas flame. My brother once over filled it with jam and nearly set the kitchen on fire!

I didn’t find this one particularly strong. Just soft and, of course, an excellent taste.

I usually have cheese and biscuits for my breakfast. Unusual, perhaps, but it’s what I like.

I often buy that in preference to French Brie. Lovely cheese.

Sounds good to me … I might try it as I’m not a foodie person first thing but don’t mind a nibble.

Mmmm. Don’t mind a nibble, eh?

It really is very nice but really, if you want an English Brie that’s better than French, try this one it’s luvverly. Bit pricey online but if you see it at a Farmers market anywhere, grab it

I’ve never heard of it, but I’ll certainly keep an ear out for it. Thanks.

Brie and bacon. swoon

That’s two of my five a day then; three if you get BCBs from the bacon. You could get them from the brie as well, but that’s unlikely. You are more likely to get them from hard cheese.

Go on, ask. You know you want to.

I don’t know and I’ll probably kick myself once you tell me. I even tried to look it up and couldn’t find any info. So go on then…whats BCB?

Thanks. I’m afraid I’ve never seen that one, but I’ll keep an eye out for it. A name easy to remember anyway.

Ahhh, now that’s my kind of bacon! :+1:

Mine too - but without the slimy brie!

I bought a cheese that looks like a Christmas Pudding the other day…no idea what it will taste like but it looks good for the Xmas table

I’ll take a picture of it later and post it here.

I love cheese, have it every day of the year, sometimes the main meal is cheese based, sometimes just the tiniest morsel of the most flavoursome to finish off a meal.

My all time favourite:
