Yes it was, about 100m downhill from the Rock of Ages.
The Good Reverand was a bit of a burke. Instead of sheltering here, he could have had much better shelter in a cave about 80m away that he had already passed.
Many years ago my friend and I cycled to Burrington Coombe and I managed to squeeze myself up into that rock …… it felt very special at the time.
Memories …. I love them!
What lovely photos, it is very pretty round there and your photos do it proud. Glad you enjoyed it, the sun is shining here, you’ve made me want to go out for a visit
If your down this way a lot have you ever been to the Yeo Farm Organic Garden, not far from Blagdon Lake ?
It’s one of my favourite places to visit, lovely garden and views, lots of good ideas for your own garden, nice shop with Yeo Valley products and a lovely cafe with the worlds best sausage rolls!
You have to book online but it’s not expensive and they open again in April
Yes, but not since lockdown. We love it all round there, driving down the lanes on both sides of both lakes, stopping for an ice cream on the causeway, or lunch or tea and a look around the antiques shop at Manor Farm.
