2 hours to delicious

I was very sceptical when I received a bread maker as one of my Christmas gifts.
However, last night, I threw 5 ingredients in to it and precisely 1 hour 55 minutes later this turned up!!
How exciting is that?!!

And what’s more, it tastes absolutely divine :heavy_heart_exclamation:

I chose…
White Rapid
Large
Light crust

I can’t believe how easy it is
yet the taste is incredible in comparison to shop bought loaves :heavy_heart_exclamation:

That loaf looks delicious, apparently you can make pizza dough in them as well, when I get paid, I’m going to buy one from Argos.

Sorry,Rhian, I thought I was off topic, ,as I was mentioning pizza dough ,so deleted…looks yummy as I said earlier…going to buy one ,thanks for sharing,:+1::+1:

What make is your bread maker, Rhian?

I’d like to look it up on Argos?

It’s a Panasonic Pauline

I’ve heard great reviews regarding these bread makers, looked up the Panasonic ones, they are expensive, I think it pays to get a good, plus it can make pizza dough, brioche, etc…I may have to wait another month, before I can stretch my budget to buy one,:+1:

I had my first attempt at making bread today, using a food mixer, dough hooks and packet mix.

Was it a success? Not really. I suppose I should have mixed it all up with a spoon or fork before setting the machine going. Maybe should have kneaded it more, and perhaps not too much water. And just how do you judge water temperature?

I had some this evening, with butter, and it was ok, but I had to get it to rise (though it wasn’t enough) by putting in a low oven with a pan of water. I have several more packet mixes, so best get my money’s worth from the mixer.

Maybe I should have got a bread maker instead.

You’ve done well. Ours proved to be such a hit and miss affair I gave up. Went from light and fluffy delicious delight to small, windowless building! Apparently ambient temperature and humidity can have quite the impact, but how to avoid that I have no idea…

Looks good, Rhian. You’ve done well. :+1:

I have had my Panasonic bread maker for a few years now, l wouldn’t be without it. It makes bread making so effortless.
I have made dough for French sticks, Naan bread, hot cross buns, bread rolls Lardy bread in it. As well as white and wholemeal bread, I made a cake in it.

I don’t use the rapid programme for making the bread, l use the longer programme. The crust is beautiful and the bread is delish. The only drawback is it doesn’t keep so long but it’s nice toasted.

I had a kenwood mixer with dough hook many years ago . I always made my own bread using fresh yeast . But now I cant make it because I’d eat it and dont need the extra calories . The smell of fresh bread is delicious

That’s exactly why I gave up with my bread maker Lucylulu. It made fabulous wholemeal bread, but white bread was very hit and miss. It would look great through the viewing window as it was approaching the end of the cooking time, but then often, with only minutes to go, it would collapse.

@Rhian - does your one have the dough hook in the middle at the bottom, leaving a hole where you have to pull it out? That’s another feature I used to hate. I have to say that your loaf does look delicious! There really is nothing like home made bread, is there?!

I have a Kenwood Chef, and make my bread with it. I have a recipe that does all the mixing and kneading, and all you have to do is tip it out into a bowl to prove. I use my Instant Pot on the yoghurt setting for that!

I used to make bread in my slow cooker
.I used a food processor to make the dough.
I have thought about getting a bread making machine though.
I remember there used to be a guy on here who was really into bread making.

Yes it has Bathsheba but as it’s at the bottom it didn’t bother me too much!
