Your early in life claim to fame

As it’s nearly the end of another day, I thought I,d try to get you to rattle your thoughts as to your early claim to fame

I was 6yrs of age and in my first class at school, in those days we had a little bottle of milk at the morning break,
The milk was left out side the class room and a milk monitor had the very important job of putting a bottle on each desk,
Now I was born in 1949 not that long after the 2nd world war had finished and ive always thought because of this time scale it was the reason you did not see many fat kids in your school or in your street really,
But we did have one lad named david Burks, and he was fat & infact always eating, well he got the job for a short while until it was found not every child had a bottle of this milk, He was drinking a few bottles here and a few bottles there, So not only did the staff room not have milk for the teachers tea, some kids also had no milk,
He lost his
job and they needed a new milk monitor,
The teacher knew i did not like milk and i feel this was the reason my claim to fame had arrived (except i never got the badge that went with the job) I think david burks ate it.

What was your early in life claim to fame?

Science.

It wasn’t really early for me, but I guess my small claim to fame was my college and university education.

I bowed to Queen Elizabeth II in 1954 as did about a dozen other school children when she returned from her Commonwealth tour and spent a very short time in Folkestone Town Hall (now a Maccas) on her way back to London.

Also, apparently I was at Grammar School with Noel Redding (Jimi Hendricks Experience) though I don’t remember him at all - he was in the year below me.

That’s quite enough fame for one lifetime.

I met Lulu and got a signed black and white picture when I was ten. She visited my school in Central London.
She was more chatty with my best friend Andrew because he had a Scottish name :open_mouth::wink:

Being born  :017:

Sorry, deleted. Meant to address the forum

In school life, I got prizes in woodwork and metalwork. Also the 3rd year form prize. I was made a Prefect (or Defect as we used to say  ) in the 4th year.

I met Roger Moore and Richie Blackmore in the course of my work.

At school I played piano accordion in a folk song group, we once appeared on stage where I played a solo rendition of ‘It Takes a worried Man’ I can still play it and can also rattle off ‘Michael Row the Boat’ if pushed… …
My Beethoven’s moonlight sonata needs some work though…
