World Book Day for Grown Ups

My niece has sent me an adorable photo of her 4 year old son today, dressed up in a snail costume, it’s like a tabard with a built-in hood with little antennae sticking up from the hood - he is clutching this book - he looks so cute in his Snail Outfit.

The Hardy Boys?
Probably not very well known over the pond.
I bet they wouldn’t be seen dead without a flashlight :flashlight:
There was a story when they solved a mystery of a so called haunted house.

I’ll stick with the mead and celebrate seasonality with turnips

I can’t hear “turnip” without thinking Blackadder and Baldrick

Aw, that was a cute one, and original among so many Harry Potters

Just William.I wouldn’t have to dress up much just have to find a cap from somewhere.

Wow, you’d look glam. No weapons in school, though :ninja:

Have you got the knees for those short trousers?:leg::leg:

No, I didn’t know that, thanks. :+1:

Can’t help thinking, ‘that isn’t a child’s book.’

Everyone young and old wears shorts here so they won’t be noticed.

Well, no it isn’t and as he’s only three, he definitely hasn’t read it!

But fair play to his mum, it was a good, quick and easy idea, very resourceful

I still think it was wrong. Lad wouldn’t get it at all. Funny though for adults.

It was a bit of cheating but at three, I don’t think they get it that much anyway
It’s often a bit of a panic for mum’s to think up a costume quickly, and at least he won! So all in good fun really
