What is the etiquette with Meze?

Precisely!

Now there’s a thought…after a couple of slugs of Ouzo I’d probably be in my element. It’d probably be best to warn the neighbours in advance .

Do you remember the chemistry lesson from school in which a couple of things are mixed together and create some sort of “skin” between the layers which turns out to be nylon?

Ouzo always seems to remind me of that. Aniseed flavoured liquid nylon.

I don’t remember that particular experiment I’m afraid Dex.
In all seriousness I’d only have an Ouzo if I were in Greece or a restaurant… it’s something that just wouldn’t work for me at home. I’m sure I’ll be able to source an appropriate Greek wine

As luck would have it, we had a lunch meeting today and we did a Meze starter.

Everyone followed etiquette guidelines around sharing.
I didn’t accept food from my vegan colleague’s starter (separate) when she offered everyone at the table. A few colleagues accepted her offer though. There wasn’t much left on her plate thereafter. :018:

Here’s a pic of one platter. Really fancy ‘bread sticks’ shaped in a circle.

do you eat the round ones or are they just decoration?

It’s completely edible and it was delicious! Loved the food. Even the mains were outstanding!

Wow, that’s clever. It’s a fun way to eat, shame about your vegetarian friends starter though, some people have no social skills!

I like it when they do something a bit fancy when you’re eating out

Last time we had Japanese they did these “trees” with tempura batter and noodles

Can you get it in your mouth all in one go?

I know. Minx is a very petit and gentle soul.

Wise words.

Quite. Anyway, back to topic. Am curious about the colouring on those breadsticks. We’re they flavoured differently?

Not a chance!
