Photographed a Bee on a Lupin…
…and a pretty display of flowers…
Today I took a photo of 4 Evening Primrose blooms. A little unusual to see 4 out at a time. A pity they have their prime for one day only and then start to wither…
That lives upto its name , looks quite long too
So many good flower and garden photos at this time of year. By way of a change, Mrs mart made me a hat. Thought the least I could do was model it, so this is what I did with my webcam today…
Very elegant!
I wear one the same , im on my second one , its a rain hat , wore it on my walk today
I prefer a baseball cap most of the time. Trouble is Mrs mart is making these hats for all the family and I said I’d wear one too. I’ll now be expected to wear it often. I’ll try using it for out in the garden and at the allotment.
Mrs Mart is avery clever lady , she can turn her hand to anything .
I was surprised to see this ship? Come sailing down the canal this morning during my walk. Unfortunately my phone is brilliant for making calls, but rubbish at taking photos…
It’s called the ‘Extol Pride’ nothing to do with gay folks though…

Where is this vessel going?
The vessel is currently at port GOOLE, GB after a voyage of 2 hours, 28 minutes originating from port HULL, GB.
What kind of ship is this?
EXOL PRIDE (IMO: 7803437) is a Inland Tanker that was built in 1979 (44 years ago) and is sailing under the flag of United Kingdom.
Her carrying capacity is 650 t DWT and her current draught is reported to be 2.2 meters. Her length overall (LOA) is 60.79 meters and her width is 6.05 meters.
looks like it took the wrong turning ,Hardly any room for another boat to pass .
I blame it on SatNavs.
You’re right Eliza, quite extraordinary to see such a large vessel these days navigating the local stretch of the Sheffield to Goole canal, although when I were a lad there were rows and rows of ‘Tom Pudins’ being towed down the canal distributing coal to the four corners of the world. To Goole docks anyway. There are a couple more tankers like the Exol Pride, and deliver cooking oil to Sheffield, or the other way round, I’m not sure. They are so large that they can’t stop quickly and a bloke in a van races to each bridge to open it so they don’t have to slow down or stop. They tend to use the canal at night and early morning when it’s less busy. I used to see them regularly when I was a runner, I used to race to the bridges before the bloke in the van got there. That’s why I was so fast…
I didn’t take this today if you are wondering…
Thats interesting , but it begs the question why its moved this way and not delivered by road or train .
I thought in this day and age everything on the canal was now for pleasure, The Grantham Canal that I walk is dry most of the way , they have to plug leaks, there is a pleasure boat ride which is nearer to Grantham.
Time for the Trumpet Vine to come into flower and start taking over the World…
