What have you done with your camera today

Can’t do that, I refuse to pay for the apps that let you & don’t know how to do it another way. As Mags said, click on the small pics & they go bigger.
Thanks Mags.

I use a free program called imgur

I did try that but couldn’t get on with it. I was with Photobucket originally, I am not technically able. The means of putting pics directly onto this forum is available & clicking on the pic gives you the bigger one.

test shot for sharpness, Focused on trellis work

this time on tripod using light meter settings

Nikon D810
Nikon afs-24-70mm
f10
ISO 640
1/60 sec
lens @ 55mm
focal distance 6.68 mtr

compared to original there is a huge quality loss via the internet. At a rough guess about 20%+ degradation in picture quality

Original RAW file size 74.5 MB is too large to send direct.
Light meter however is correct with information, so camera set to that

same photo but cropped first to show difference. No sharpening straight crop and posting. Used adobe Elements 14 for the crop and convert from RAW to Jpeg only

I can’t get anywhere near as sharp on the photo above when zoomed in. That shows how much gets lost via internet. even this has lost sharpness to a degree

Try zooming in( click on photo) on the first picture and judge for yourself

I use Lunapic, then click on imgur link and copy and paste, just looked at the imgur page, couldn’t see where to upload any images.

By using Luna I can upload from either bt or google cloud.

Try Lunapic, its a free one as well.

You don’t need to pay for anything Tiffany you are already doing most of the job.

You have already done all the hard work by uploading the picture to OFF (recognise the picture above? I didn’t download it, I just got the link from your post)

Here is how you do it:

Upload your picture to OFF which you already know how to do.

Click on “Preview Post” at the bottom of the partly completed message.

You should get your message with your picture(s) at the bottom of the message.

Right Click on a/the thumbnail picture and you will get a menu like this:

Look for “Copy Link location” NOTE: not “Copy Image location”

Click on that line in the menu - the menu should then disappear.

Click on the https://www.over50sforum.com/images/editor/insertimage.gif button above the message.

Press CTRL V (Hold down Ctrl key the press the V key) or long press and “Paste”

Click OK

You should then find something like…

https://www.over50sforum.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11064&d=1573749982

…entered in your message which will be a large picture of your image.

Repeat for each image you uploaded.

Easy as! and costs you nothing.

That’s good thank you for posting it, but I’ll never remember it. I am not technical. Took me months to work out how to post Youtube music videos.

What’s wrong with people clicking on the photo I post any way.

On ths very rare occasions that I post photos straight from my phone, they come out small. I could download them onto my laptop from Google Photos then upload onto another site, then onto here but by then it would be tomorrow and not today

I expect I’ll get into trouble now for using my phone instead of my camera, one fits in my pocket, the other doesn’t.
So there!

Tess, I’ve noticed with some of your pics ie #551 on this thread, the pic is postage stamp size, I click on it and it opens in a new OFF window/tab still tiny on a black background. I click on the first OFF window/tab and your pic is there enlarged, I hit the toolbar back arrow to go back to this forum thread.

My camera fits in my pocket, TessA. It’s an idiot proof one.

Jolly good and all those calories got burned in the process!

… good for the brain cells too, I sure, mysterious piccie presentation. :017:

All the best things come wrapped in mystery!

It does us good to have to do a little work to see our pics.

Grey Heron at RSPB Rainham Marshes in the rain.

Super pic Gasman.

nice shot of the bird pity the background was so out of focus

But the object of the picture is sharp. If the background was sharp as well it would take the eye away from the bird… It is still a good capture.

emjay i modified my post. it is only sharp as it has been edited with Adobe lightroom
