Weird musical fact from 1965

The BBC initially refused to play The Who’s 1965 song “My Generation” because it did not want to offend people who stammer.
Lead singer Roger Daltrey explained that he stuttered the lyrics simply to try to fit them to the music.
After the song rose in popularity, the BBC reversed its decision.

Yeah. To my way of thinking the BBC have always been wussies.
So politically correct. Piss weak if I may say so. Must not upset a certain demographic.
I think it is time the public banned the BBC.

You’ve got to have some public broadcasting.(The ABC and SBS are better than the BBC I think.) You can’t have it all owned by the big money like Murdoch.
