The majority of those numerous cultures who came here, especially more recently perhaps, came here to integrate, work and raise families. They adopted the christian religion and either spoke, or learned to speak English. But not all people who come here want to integrate or adopt the British way of life, they want to turn Britain into their own country, worshiping their own gods and observing their own laws and customs. They come in great numbers and occupy large areas of the major cities where a policeman fears to tread. Allow me to accompany you on guided trip around Sheffield, Rotherham, Leeds, Bradford, and many other Yorkshire towns and you’ll see what I’m referring to. But I think you know already Helen…

I’m only pointing out the changes I’ve seen in my lifetime.
I don’t live in Yorkshire but in London which is probably equally multicultural. I know what you are getting at but don’t share your views which seem reactionary and prejudiced. Other cultures do not impact my life and I have no negative feelings towards them, we are all members of the human race and should respect each other as individuals.
I also have no negative views about multiculturalism when the various cultures are prepared to integrate and accept the laws of this land. I will admit though, multiculturalism is more readily accepted in London than other places in the UK especially up north. But don’t ever think that despite this, the Yorkshire folk are not welcoming and hospitable to every person that comes here whatever their race or religion, but it works both ways.
