Update on Holly

Morning Jazzi, did you check out these prices?
You can buy just 3 tins if you want.

https://fetch.co.uk/search?entry=Hills+i%2Fd+for+dogs

The hills letters refer to what they are prescribed for, Elsie was on one for her skin at one time, Betty had the Id for her tummy. Iā€™m not keen on feeding them for long myself and usually try to find a better way even hand cooking mainly because I worry about getting too focused on one food. When we used to feed a tinned food all three of ours at the time loved the manufacturer stopped making it ! Over night we had three dogs obsessed with one brand and no more being made. That taught me make sure they eat lots of variety so we can change if needed.

Ah, thanks Julie! Thatā€™s handy to know the reasoning behind the codes.

While she is under the vet care and until we know what, if anything, we are dealing with (poo sample test), Iā€™ll continue with this food. Later on, I will do trial and error to see what she can tolerate.

Glad both you and pooch are better.

Yes, I did Mups. Itā€™s about on a par with the other website.

Oh, sorry. Thought you said the other place was Ā£2.08, thatā€™s why I thought this was a good deal at Ā£1.47, and save you a few bobā€¦

Are you sure this was Digestive Care? I think other codes may be cheaper.

Holly successfully had her second vax this morning, together with a face and bum clean. In the w/room she was barking at all the other dogs (and cats) but when home she was lethargic and hanging her head down. A quick phone call to the vet reassured me that some pets react like this.

She is now beginning to walk around and wake up a bit and has eaten.

Now next week she will be able to go out on walks with the foster carer. He will walk her outside before me!

Will you get her poo results before you go away Jazzi?

Yes some can get quite depressed about it jazzi, as long as she perks up quite quickly I wouldnā€™t be too worried, its eyes saying that I know as they are a worry arenā€™t they !

Sheā€™s well woken up! Giving me the runaround, ignoring commands, giving me nips!

I was told I could get the results before Christmas, so yes, am hopeful.

Oh thatā€™s good, it shouldnā€™t take too long.
Fingers crossed.

Morning all.

A quick question about her last vaccination, and allowing time before going out.

She had it done first thing last Friday. Do you reckon I could take her out Thursday afternoon/evening, for our first walks together? Itā€™ll probably be a failure, as she might baulk at the cold, but I just wondered if time wise itā€™d be fine.

Ta!

I believe your vet will probably say wait one week, but some people wait 2 weeks to be really sure. See what others say though, Jazzi.

Sheā€™s only a wee dot, so I would have carried her in my arms most days until now anyway, to get her used to outside noises, traffic, other people, etc. She would feel safe that way, but donā€™t put her down to sniff around where other dogs pee just yet.

The vet did say one week, Mups. So as I said, my question is, do I wait till Friday, or Thursday?

Iā€™d give the vet a quick ring and ask them to be sure.

Yup, was thinking of doing that, to be sure, to be sure!

Mine go out from day one in my arms, are put down to walk a week after last vaccination it makes little difference Thursday or Friday though, either will be ok. Iā€™d tend to go places not got loads of other dogs to begin with anyway.

Sheā€™s getting a bit better on the lead, and I have walked out with her in my arms. We went out yesterday so she could see and hear traffic and other people, and say hello to one neighbour. Iā€™ll start her on the ground on Thursday, I think.

Jazzi Iā€™m so sorry youā€™ve had to cancel your holiday.

I hope one of your sisters will invite you to dine with them and you wonā€™t be alone on Christmas dayā€¦

Sounds good Mups !
I hang any cooked bones for the birds they love them !
Kibble ion itā€™s own s not really very good for dogs despite its general appeal only for ease and connivence .
