Up The Garden Path

No, stopped at midday, like salt on my chips, not in facial sweat.

Spent the afternoon assembling a new Gazebo (Beer Tent).

That is as flat and weed free as it gets at 6.00am on a Monday Morning, tomorrow is Turf Tuesday.

Oooh have you got plans for it Spitty? A bit of landscaping, rock garden maybe? Or is it all plain grass? Looks a pretty large area!

Looking good

Hope all goes well today spitty. You’ve picked an absolute scorcher of a day to lay that turf. Remember a hat and plenty of water for yourself and the grass!!

Its done Dex, Time for a shower (like the Lawn), the turf was cut in Yorkshire at 7.00am this morning and was nice and damp when I laid it.

Must have been moment when you thought you were dying. Shoving your head straight under the hose to cool off!!!:lol:

Made the mistake off checking why the sprinkler was not oscillating without turning the water off.

Expletives do seem highly appropriate at times :lol:

Heard a few today Dex, the Wife, who has a significant birthday in three weeks time, barrowed in the 53 Sq metres in 30° heat, all credit to her.

Hopefully you won’t need them spitty. Might need to brush a bit of topsoil over any gaps in September, but the roots will easily mesh their way through.

Hi Dex, I was going to pre-empt the meshing process, is this not a good idea?

Don’t think it’s necessary in all honesty. Leave it until early to mid September to see if you get any dead patches on the turf (unlikely, but you never know), then brush some topsoil into any gaps if needs be as said before, possible adding some seeds to the soil you use beforehand instead of sprinking by hand. September sewing of seed still allows enough time for germination before colder winter months.

Google for hints and tips of lawn maintenance.

Edit - like you, I bought some spare seeds at the time. Never used any of it whatsoever and ended up giving them to a friend who had a small area he wanted to make into a lawn.
