UK homelessness minister resigns

The opposition Conservatives say the case is evidence PM Keir Starmer is running a “government of hypocrisy and self-service”.

Very true BUT that’s what they do too. :grinning:

I read the article earlier this morning.
If truth be told, if every politician was audited, all of them will be found to have skeletons in their closets.
Hypocrites, the lot of them.

I have a theory about politicians.
Apart from being puppets of the big end of town, they deliberately encourage the voters to fight among themselves eg: Left v Right , to make it easier for them to control us. :grinning:

Or perhaps she thought her job was to make people homeless???

I first stated that at least 4 decades ago. Pit the population against each other in the vain hope of deflecting anger away from the pollies.

More importantly Gareth Ward resigned just before he was kicked out of Parliament

I don’t know if its a government of hypocrisy and self-service. However Starmer’s government has to be one of the biggest disappointments of the last few decades. All those who voted Labour because they thought it would change things, be a fresh approach after so many years of Tory austerity and do positive things for the country. So disappointing.

Yep Lincs, no Labour Councilor should have private rental aspirations.

Squeaky Clean is very difficult!

Just a knee jerk reaction by the voting public.
Same old story. Cameron got voted in because of the incompetent Blair and Brown.
Starmer gets voted in because of the incompetent Boris and Theresa May…
Sunak was the best of a bad lot in my opinion.

He was a very popular MP in his electorate. Even after he was charged with sex offences he was re-elected to the NSW Parliament.

Note: the Liberal Party is our equivalent of the Tory Party

News Corp has published details and grainy CCTV footage along with details of a report that Ward arrived at parliament early on July 21 “wearing a t-shirt, underwear and socks” and with a gash on his head.

We’ve all been there haven’t we… :icon_redface:

That’s very Australian though but I’m surprised he was wearing socks.
