I have a number of reels of filament with just a tiny amount of filament left on them not enough for a big project but too much to just throw in the bin (in my opinion).
A full 1Kg roll no problem:
But once it gets near the end?
What do you do with the few metres left on the reel?
I came across some YouTube videos tackling this problem with some ideas including melting it into plastic sheets. I decided to design a few small items that use very little filament but which might come in handy in the workshop.
BTW the clips on the left are not my design but the rest are, on the front right are some paint stirrers with hexagonal shafts that fit into an electric drill they are really handy and work well.
At the back are a couple of funnels, again they use very little plastic so are handy for the end of a reel. The one on the right is for putting oil in my car, the one on the left for the kitchen etc and uses a tiny amount of plastic. They both use the same code in OpenScad just with different variables. I would revamp the one on the right with a shorter but wider cone if I ever make another
BTW those plastic reels are largely being replaced with cardboard reels, I don’t know why because the reels are recyclable anyway.
