Agree @Bretrick, life experiences shape our lives, determine our personality, make us what we are today.
Of course, we learn a lot from reading too, helps to broaden our horizons, improve our language skills, understand different points of view, so combining this cultural knowledge with our own experiences, we can participate in discussions on a wide range of topics.

I agree with your conclusion and with Rose’s crucial addition. I just wondered who’d actually claim that “everything can be learnt from books”? I can’t think of anyone. Can you?
