Be careful, chicky bird. The branch arching over the bird is a very thorny rose bush.
Chick is very mindful of those super sharp thorns.

You are doing well to get that close.They are very protective.Not just mums and dads but aunts,uncles and family friends join in.

I can get within 2 feet of them. They do not seem to mind my presence at all.
Yes, very protective of chicks still in the nest.
There is Butcher Bird nest with a chick or two in my yard. When I am in the vicinity, the adults dive at me, clicking their beaks.
