Just had our 17 year old boiler serviced, it looks like it’s going to need quite a bit spending on it, so it’s looking like having a new boiler fitted, I haven’t had the quote as yet but it looks like it’s going to be roughly £4.5k…ouch

Just to get a boiler replaced? Shouldn’t cost that much Alan, new boilers are about £1k…

We were £3100 five years ago for a Worcester Bosch replacement. 3 bedroom house with 11 radiators. What I could not understand they had to fit a larger gas pipe from the meter. I thought modern boilers needed less gas.

Agree with others in an average house a new boiler is about a 800 hundred to a thousand dollars , including installation .

I installed one 2 months ago but I do not carry it the owners son did though only 80lbs empty I no longer carry heavy stuff as to old but I went with him to get it and a great boiler ran 800 , I charged 50 to install it as required welding .

I was looking at your site and Europe truly has become expensive , do not get me wrong USA is no winner but Europe is absurd .

We had this one installed back in 2009, it depends on what type of boiler you go for, we have a viessman and will likely replace it with the same, back then it cost about £2200, fully installed, so the price has doubled, it does include a power flush and comes with a 12 year warranty…parts and labour…

Viessmann if memory serves is top of the line German made and know many of the older models discontinued which IMO a shame

We had a Worcester Bosch Greenstar fitted for £2200 in 2016.
It was our first combi boiler after having a Back Boiler for over fifty years (not the same one I hasten to add) so there was a lot of extra pipework to do. I removed the old cold water supply tank in the loft and all the associated redundant pipework myself. The Bosch boiler is now 9 years old and will probably require a new boiler in the next few years…It should be easier though.
I think they are trying to dissuade people from using gas boilers in the future and turning to heat pumps instead, this might explain the jump in price.
I don’t understand this move to electricity for boilers and vehicles, my electricity bill was twice the price of my gas bill, and our oven and hot water heating are both gas.

It’s probably just a general representation of the increased cost of everything. Yesterday I had a look at the Cotswold company furniture store that used to be a favourite and their prices are now eye watering. I bought this (lovely) oak cupboard back in 2020 for my Covid supplies. It cost £399 then. Now it’s showing as £549 although who knows how old that price is as it’s discontinued - almost 40% higher! Most of their stuff is now unaffordable. I’m so glad I bought a few pieces when it was a decent price.

I’m very happy with the worcester bosch boiler that was installed in 2019. They are great and if serviced regularly go on for many years.

They do Annie, and they guarantee them for seven years.
It can even power a good shower without the need for a pump…

I noticed a massive difference in my gas bills when we changed from a back boiler.
Although I serviced the back boiler myself…I don’t do this one though… :017:

As with everything, the cost of boilers have gone up, yes there are cheaper options, and I could go to a one man band kind of operation which we did when it was installed, getting him back to service it was difficult however, this company have good reviews and there are a few that work there so breakdowns and servicing shouldn’t be much of an issue…

I found a fabulous worcester bosch installer on their website section of approved installers. He diagnosed exactly why the old Vailant had broken down after a string of comedians suggested changing radiators and all sorts. Perhaps Viessman do the same. I don’t trust anyone else and have found reviews to be misleading.

Does anyone know how much a power flush is nowadays? I might be wrong, but replacing a boiler would require one of these to be carried out.

Not sure of the cost but a new boiler normally requires a power flush as part of the warranty…
