Has anyone else watched the TV series “The Testaments”?

It is supposedly based on Margaret Atwood’s book which is a sequel to “The Handmaids Tale”.

I will try not to give away any of the plot but I was disappointed in the series. I can’t complain about the production or the characters they were both really good (Aunt Vidala took a bit of getting used to I thought she would be the same age as Aunt Lydia).

It was just that the plot strayed so much from the original story that it annoyed and spoilt it for me. Perhaps I should not have read the book first?

Anyone else watched it and got thoughts about the series.

I’m actually planning on watching this. I watched The Handmaid’s Tale a while ago. Although it was a very well-made series, some excellent interpretations, in my opinion it was rather disturbing to watch at times, “horrific” , I might say.
I’m curious to watch the sequel as my daughter has recommended it to me, reassuring me that this time it doesn’t contain “distressing and harrowing” scenes.
