The Liberal Party Abandons "Net Zero"

The senior party in the Coalition has bowed to pressure from their junior partners and the right wing of their own party to abandon Net Zero.

They will still support the Paris Agreement But will pursue the goal of cheaper electricity even building new coal fired power stations.

At last, somebody sees sense.
Net Zero only benefits the rich.
It’s basically redistribution of wealth, from one set of rich folk to another using the future of the planet as an excuse. And with the power of the media and fake science, managed to brainwash the gullible masses.
It’s emotional blackmail, by making you believe that it’s your kids and grand kids that will suffer in the future…Who doesn’t want the best for their offspring?
I’ve never seen so much Virtue signalling by advertisers selling new cars, to washing powder manufacturers telling you to save energy…
The establishment in the UK want you to save energy because successive governments have completely screwed up the power industry and tell you that it’s all your fault.

Coal powered will be a disaster not about CO2 but about raw air pollution .

Provided the coal fired stations are not built near populated areas, the pollution will just dissipate. Most components of pollution are heavier than air and will eventually come down, otherwise the smoke from a million bush and forest fires and volcanoes would still be floating around up there and block out the sun. Isn’t that a good thing for all the people that believe in global warming?
Bill Gates is even considering doing the same…But it’s not his sun, is it!.. :018:

No it goes into the soil , water , etc and stays in the air for awhile .

London like USA was once covered in coal ‘’ smog ‘’

" For five days in December 1952, a thick fog strangled the streets of London—a disaster that killed thousands of people and opened the door to landmark environmental protections."

Yes I said it stays in the air for a while NCS…

And all the pollution that goes into the soil, came out of the soil once…
I didn’t say we should build a coal fired power station in the middle of London… :009:
And if you would like to calculate the smoke from millions of chimneys and compare it to the smoke from a coal fired power station that has various measures in place to prevent some of the dangerous stuff taken out of the fumes…I think you’ll find a big difference.
The stuff billowing out of the cooling towers is just steam, and none polluting. It’s water used to cool down the generators.

Actually its the stuff you can’t see like NOX and SOX that are the bad polluting stuff.

In the early 80s I worked at Pyrmont Power Station right in the middle of Sydney - it was when we coaled that we made the suburb filthy, the 100s of trucks bring coal driving through the suburb left a layer of coal dust over everything.

To make the “smoke” which is actually coal ash easier to collect, acid was sprayed into the flues before the precipitators which was neutralised by an alkaline sprayed in afterwards. Occasionally one or other of the sprays would fail and everybody’s washing on lines in the area would turn into rags.

These days they use bag houses which, as the name implies, collects the dust in bags like a vacuum cleaner and the fly ash is used in cement making.

When the power station was operating the suburb was very verdant with plants growing from every crack in the pavement because of the nitrogen fertiliser falling from the air.

That’s a stunning and damning allegory. Do you have the source or author of this?

I think it was an article on youtube Surfermom, just enter ‘Net Zero Watch’ and there are lots of eminent scientists and scholars who are allowed to voice their opinions on CO2 and net zero…Unlike the BBC.

You tube is hardly a ringing endorsement for anything, be it climate change or anything else, you can also find evidence that proves climate change is real easily on there, apart from 97% of climate scientists agreeing that man is altering the climate, there will always be conspiracy theorists who will deny it, then there’s those with hidden agendas that stand to lose financially…

The raw coal which is untouched is not same at all as coal once heated / burned .

I could not care less about CO2 because other then USA , Europe most of the world is not going to stop .

Africa , Latin America , most of Asia , Russia , Middle East are not going to stop but burned coal is a bad monkey as far as air , soil , water .

Yes you can find anything on line but I enjoyed the video as good to read , hear other points .

However I do subscribe to what the vast MAJORITY of scientists say but again one can find anything online which suits our agenda regardless of party , etc but how else can we make our point .

Lol delightful especially when one has looked like Charlie Brown since age 21 –

Bald men are perceived as more attractive and masculine, says study’’

Bald and successful: Study claims bald men are more attractive.

Look for me on BBC news protesting coal in London with Greta Thunberg and her friends I’ll be the old bald man wearing a worn out Goldfish Make Great Pets t-shirt ,eating black pudding .

America and China - India burn fossil fuel more than any other civilised country. Just worth thinking about before shouting we in the UK should do more to clean up the air we breathe. Example USA v UK cars !!! need I say more?

I agree but problem is you will be doing just that breathing in filth .

India has a high rate of cancer and again I could not care less about CO2 but actual pollution is very different .

Oncologist warns ‘air pollution is fueling new wave of Indian cancers’; women who don’t smoke are also getting affected’’

With those kinds of blinkers Primus, I don’t think you would even consider the pope as a viable source of information…
And ten years ago you would probably be right about the 97% of scientists, but not anymore as the truth will always come out…
