Hi Gilly, I’ve done all those now,but not posted them all. We had a good rest. It was interesting at times, 3 days sailing through a force 9 gale and 3 days rain. Went to Russia in the Artic and was made very welcome.

Duck = Term of endearment used locally to Nottingham mostly.e.g. Ay up me duck = Hello my dear !
In other words it is an expression (colloquial ) used in a particular locality.
Nottinghamese is a little strange to understand sometimes !
e.g.
Jugger darn ? = Did you go down to the football match/festival/concert/garden fete ?
Gissen arfit. = Give us half of it.
Goo omm = Go home.
Jawanna make owt onnit ? = Did you want to make anything of it ? In other words, do you want an argument/fight etc.
