The best decision I made after turning 50

Growing up, I always assumed life was mostly mapped out once you reached a certain age. But after 50, I made a choice to [stop worrying about what people think / give up something I didn’t need / pick up a completely new habit], and it was the most liberating feeling.

Looking back, what is a piece of wisdom or a shift in mindset you only truly understood after turning 50?

A habit :innocent:

Having seen people struggle to retirement age or longer only to pass away shortly after, once I turned fifty I decided to cut my
working hours to part time

I had always ‘worked to live’ not ‘lived to work’, could manage comfortably on a part time salary and have never regretted it

That’s a powerful perspective. It takes a lot of clarity and courage to step back from the status quo and prioritize quality of life over extra income. I’m glad to hear you’ve never looked back—time really is our most valuable resource.
