A tail from today. We pass a house with a little Yorkie. She barks at Max. Actually, at anyone who passes. Hadn’t seen her in a few days. My dear wife and I were a bit concerned. So we asked. Her owner was so grateful that we showed compassion.
He went to the groomer today. She is ace. And Max is so relaxed with her he falls asleep. And she does a brilliant job.
And he is a charmer.
We have two of our grand girls staying over for a few days. Max has a tendency to gently herd them around. They are very well behaved. “Bedtime girls” I said.
They gave my wife and myself a hug and went off to their own new bedrooms. Max accompanied them up the stairs and is now lying on the landing between their two bedrooms. Guard dog duty for his flock?
A little addendum. Max had a vet appointment today. My daughter drove us there. An invasive, uncomfortable examination and blood taken. He was tolerant as usual.
Max is Max.
So we have the grand girls again.
Aged 11 and 6. They are very well behaved. Max was ecstatic on their arrival. He gave the elder a doggy hug, the younger gave him a hug.
All three are now upstairs.
I can’t see Max…now I am stamping my feet!
Maybe it’s my iPad,all I get is a blank blue screen.
I am so happy for Max,…he found his loving forever home,…X from me to you Max…xx
Thank you, kind lady.
Max is just Max. I can’t fault him. His reaction to the girls arriving, priceless…he knew they were there before they even got to the front door.
We moved but are still in touch with our previous neighbours. I was known as the man with the dog. Lovely Liz sent this toy.
I can’t view it,Besoker,I just get a blank screen.
The image hosting site is imgur. But no big deal. He is playing with a toy in the back garden…
Another lovely photo, Besoeker, keep them coming - he is worth every one!
No he isn’t! He’s catching prey!
Bite…shake shake…bite…shake shake…drop…pounce…(rinse and repeat),
Thank you kindly, ST.
He really is a very good boy. Of course I would say that - after all, he is my dog. I go, he goes. He guards the bathroom door when i go in there. As my sister said, he would follow me to the end of the earth.
My bias? Not exactly. The local professional dog trainer and her charges were amazed, their words, with his behaviour.
The previous and present groomer say he is the easiest to have.
For me, he is just Max.
He’s staring right at me with those big brown gorgeous eyes.
Oh - that is the best one yet! He is gorgeous!
Love them Besso. X
A little tail from our morning walk. We go up the Old Roman road. It is fairly narrow and the undergrowth is encroaching form both sides. Max likes to explore it.
I was wandering up the hill and met a couple we often see with their wee dog.
“On your own today?”
Max was about 30 yards behind and hidden in the bushes.
“Max, let’s go!”
He instantly emerged and bounded up to greet his friends.
He is pretty obedient and they were quite impressed. So was I…
I don’t know if I posted this before. It’s him surveying his back garden giving it the stare.
As many of you may know, we moved about four months ago. We have very good neighbours, some with dogs. The other day I met a few and we all took the same route. In total, about seven dogs. Max gets along with them all just fine.
Off lead, a new route, and he just stuck with me while some of the others ran off in different directions and owners had to call them.
It made me a little pleased, proud even, of my big, gentle dog’s behaviour. It was commented on by others.
He even gets along with his pet dogs.
He is a definite ‘one off’, Besoeker. I have never met him - but I love him to bits! Just don’t tell those cats.
