Sons porch light

I do take a torch out with me :D. Thing is, it becomes a juggling act with holding it, along with the dog lead, and poo bags. If I had a light that stayed on, it would be a much more sedate activity instead of me keeping an eye on the dog, flailing my arms around to switch the light on, and swearing under my breath when I get plunged into darkness as soon as I bend down to take care of things. Its very stressful y’know…good exercise though I suppose, if I had to put a positive spin on it.

Head torch then?

Aye alright then, smarty pants… :joy: I didn’t think of using one of them :+1:

Better still, 2 head torches. One for you and one to put on your dog so she can see what she’s doing/done too. lol

Yes, a head torch. I sometimes used one to peer into electrical panels - and other things…

Normally, you can simply narrow the angle covered by the sensor by covering part of the Sensor with tape or similar. It is what I have had to do, to stop my neighbour from setting my light off. The other option is to angle the sensor slightly differently so it gives less coverage towards the foilage.

My garage has a mixture of fluorescent and LED strip lights, as the fluorescent lights fail I pull out the mounts and replace them with LED strip lights.

My laundry is the only remaining room in the house with a fluorescent tube - only a two foot tube but have had no reason to change it.

You are right about their longevity, the one in the verandah was there when I bought the place 42 years ago and I don’t recall changing it or replacing the starter though as I say it has not had the same use as the ones in the garage.

Although my house is mainly lit by LED’s, I found a trial of one LED batten in the kitchen was nowhere near as good as the fluorescent, so I put florry back. Not only was the light output from that LED batten somewhat less, the shadow effect was very noticeable. I use large sharp knives so shadow less light is very important to me. I’ve still got at least half a box of new triphosphor daylight tubes, so they’ll see me out for the two kitchen battens😉
