Just had solar panel fitted on my house was wondering anyone else got them what thier opinion is. Mine was fitted in march this year cost me 8 500 euros of which i got a grant paid back to me today for 1 800 euros, I was told that 10 panel was enough for my sized house but i opted for 12 as it was only 500 euros for the extra 2 . my electricity bill was comming in at 250 euros every 2 months my last bill was only about 6 weeks of solar panels and was down by 100 euros my bill was just 150 euros,
My daughter has solar panels and a battery she makes a slight profit every quarter - only by a small amount because the thieving buggers charge 29c per Kwh for their electricity and pay her 5c per Kwh for hers.
That was my feeling too but the electricity companies are in big trouble even asking the government for the right to be able to turn off the power from rooftop solar.
The problem is that it will dramatically force up the price of electricity for people without solar like you and I.
There are already households disconnecting from the grid.
