Father in Law of Pat Boone, father of Shirley Boone, Grandfather of Debby Boone.
Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1967.
He was awarded 2 Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Television.
He sang Peace in the Valley at the funeral of Hank Williams.

Some of his all-time great hits included “Chattanooga Shoe Shine Boy”, “Peace In The Valley”, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee”…
