I think I would rather live in your world @Psmith, and although I’m quite sure lovely Skye did not harm the little bird, I have a feeling @Harbal’s view is more realistic.

I would like to be wrong. I do actually have a very soft spot for magpies.

I used to have a lovely dog called Lucy, the gentlest most timid of dogs, but she did enjoy chasing squirrels, one day, mid chase a squirrel turned round and fronted up to her. Lucy slunk off, and never chased a squirrel again.

This was Lucy as a young dog, she grew into her ears later.
