Silver Tabby's Scribblings!

I am awestruck Tabbs by your brilliance .

Thank you, Muddy!:-D:-D

You are very talented, ST.

Thank you, Tiffany, playing with words is something I love to do.

I wrote this one while I was still working. I had already achieved my BSc (with honours) but the NHS, in their wisdom, decided they wanted me to do an NVQ Level 6 and were willing to pay for it - so I did! I love learning.

THE PERILS OF THE NVQs*

I am trying to do
an NVQ
and it’s driving me up the wall -
with competence this,
and evidence that,
there is just no end to it all.

I am trying to do
an NVQ
and it’s sending me insane -
portfolios here,
and narratives there,
it’s just about scrambled my brain.

I am trying to do
an NVQ
and think lever arch files rule !
with texts, and graphs,
and homework files
it’s worse than being at school.

I am trying to do
an NVQ
and my life has become a mess.
Do you think, perhaps,
if I fail the thing
I could claim it as duress ?

I am trying to do
an NVQ
and am filled with apprehension,
which will come first -
the achievement award ?
or my bus pass and old age pension ??

  • National Vocational Qualification.

Some more great stuff. I love how you can switch from serious to funny.

What a talent you have.

Thank you!

Brilliant and very clever Tabs!

The words appear to flow so easy onto paper! :023:

LOL Thank you, Mags:-D

A STUDY IN GREEN

New mown grass in seductively fragrant heaps.
Cats eyes, basking lizards, and soft tree moss.
Long, cool, shady lanes – fresh in the pollen
dusted Spring air. Lightning flash across a
pregnant sky in the dark eerie second before
sunrise gives life to the day. Deep mysterious
pools of light filtering through the leaf thatched
roof of a summer forest. Lush rolling fells,
and patchwork fields stitched by sparkling
silver streams. Emeralds, Tourmalines, and
raindrops – sleeping in curled Rose leaves.
The smiling ghosts of memory drifting across my
mind in shadows of previous lives. Green is
the colour of true love, of jealousy, and of solitude.

I was looking out of my window onto a cold, wet December evening just before I read that, ST. And now I’m somewhere completely different, and much nicer.

I am glad to hear it!:-D:-D

But don’t go too far away!

I’m already miles away, ST. At the moment, I’m somewhere looking at pools of light filtering through the leaf thatched roof of a summer forest. It’s lovely; I don’t want to go back home.

That was an incredibly evocative piece of writing, ST.

Thank you. How about this one:-

       CLEAN SHEETS

Crisp white linen, lightly starched,
smoothly ironed. Lace edged,
virginally prim – but wickedly inviting,
enticingly cool to touch. Sensuous
with the heady fragrance of fresh air,
lavender, and sunshine. Lying softly
against my skin – saving my wanton
nakedness from embarrassing the night air.

I’m about to go to bed, ST, and the image you have just so wonderfully conjured up bears very little resemblance to the one I will see when I get there. :frowning:

Again, excellent. :023:

TAKE ME

Take me………Impulsively –
in a moment of summer madness
tumble me down the river bank into
the long grass in a flurry of petticoats
and suppressed laughter. Lie with me
on the rich warm earth, cover me with daisies
and your own sweet kisses.

Take me …………Lustfully -
use me, bruise me in wild exultant
wantonness. Strip away my inhibitions
with my clothes and throw them to the
four winds. Tease and torment me
until my body weeps its own submission
to your mastery.

Take me…………Sensuously –
wrapped in silk and soft candlelight,
savouring every sweet second of
piercing tenderness. Heartbeat against
heartbeat in happy oblivion. Come into
me, touch my soul, and know the warmth
of unconditional love.

It’s getting a bit late for tumbling down riverbanks, S.T., ask me again tomorrow.

Very expressive and tastefully erotic, S.T. I forgot to mention that.

Wrote this one for a charity group which I was involved with for a while:-

BLIND ?

Just because I am sightless,
please, do not think of me as blind,
for you having no way of knowing
what I can see in my mind.
How many colours or pictures
each brightly, vibrantly, glowing
can I hold in one dream?
You have no way of knowing.

My thoughts and imagination
are unfettered, flying free.
I can hold the moon and stars
so, please, do not pity me!
Do not try to lead me -
for I follow in no-one’s wake.
Yes, I may stumble on the way
but they are my own steps I take.

My thought processes may differ
but that doesn’t mean I cannot learn,
and it doesn’t mean that I am
stupid, or that I cannot earn.
My independence is important,
don’t take that away from me -
don’t throw me on the scrap heap
because you think I cannot see!

I think, I feel, I hear, I speak!
My ambitions are strong and clear,
and I will achieve all of them,
face each challenge, overcome each fear.
You have no way of knowing
what I can see within my mind,
so, just because I am sightless,
do not assume that I am blind!

THE FRIENDSHIP BRACELET

Strands of purple silk,
a knot of soft black leather.
symbols of our friendship –
binding us together.
When your strong, gentle
fingers tied this on my wrist,
your eyes touched mine
and it felt like being kissed.

Strands of purple silk
tie you to my heart,
so wherever you may go
we will never be apart.
Friendships ties are lasting,
more so than any other,
they are strong and enduring
just like the soft black leather.

Strands of purple silk
bind you to my soul,
my spirit touching yours
keeps our friendship whole.
I’ll weep your tears, feel your pain,
share your joys and laughter.
karma linked to karma with
a knot of soft black leather.

The bracelet forms a circle
unbroken and without end,
yet another example of
what it means to be a friend.
Untouched by time or distance,
and lasting beyond forever –
bound in purple silk and
tied with soft black leather.
