Should Younger Generations Be Financially Responsible for Eldercare? Where is the Line on 'Intergenerational Fairness'?

There are a lot of older folk on the bungalow estate where I live, and I think they put down fake grass because they might be poorly and can’t cope with a lawn. Some also block pave all of their gardens…Either way, the council should step in and look after their gardens when they get too disabled. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just a nice lawn that only needs cutting every few weeks. In fact, the council gardener already comes round with his mower and does the verges and green spaces, how much harder would it be to just run the mower over a couple of gardens. We pay enough council tax each year, but they waste the money on silly projects… :009:
Once upon a time, when I was a kid, the council came round the council estate where I lived and judged peoples gardens. My Dad won it one year and came second quite often…

Yes you are correct :100:

Kids most likely aren’t going to be able to move out of home 10 years from now. It may become a 3 marriages hell of Kids and tempers.
But family love comes first. Why should you lie.

Mine all did and then went to Uni.

Didn’t have that problem with anyone in the family tree. It might be something going on at home.

If they couldn’t take care of themselves, I don’t know who would of taught them to care of elders.

The Point about Social Security is well Taken. You get to gradually starve it all away, the fat Gut you made of yourself in the 40’s n 50’s. It’s fair to say 6 out of 7 stranger I meet are fat asses. I have sort of given up on going back to the 30" waist belt Levi’s I had at 16 years old. I donate them to Goodwill and Savers now so young lil guys can wear them.
