Shall we recommend a good film/series to watch?

Been watching a few older series lately. I watched

White Collar
Gilmore Girls
Virgin River
Suits

Easy watching series with lots of seasons to get involved with.

The Luckiest Girl Alive was really good, I think it was probably Netflix.

I thought I wasn’t going to be interested in this film and to be honest, I couldn’t bring myself to watch all of it. Not because it was a poor film but just because of what it was about. I’m OK with heights and I have watched other films about the precarious situations that mountaineers get themselves into. This one though, watching it made me feel queasy. The Snooker was on another channel and I kept swapping to that …but still couldn’t help going back to the film to see how things were progressing.

Oh yes loved that one. Borrowed it from the library last year on DVD.
Really suspenseful.

I think parachutes would have been a good precaution but I suppose the film was all about not thinking of or planning safety. I might be able to watch it all the way through now that I know the outcome.

I watched ‘This City Is Ours’ in a couple of sittings and thought it good. It is on BBC iPlayer beginning to end. It is about organised crime and rivalry within a group of drug dealers. Based in Liverpool, England.

I watched the film Daddio yesterday, with Sean Penn and Dakota Johnson. I chose this film on Netflix because I think Sean Penn is such a great actor.
I wasn’t disappointed. It’s good to watch a different type of film every now and then, it’s one of those with only two actors.

Anyone seen “A Simple Plan”, 1998 neo-noir crime thriller, on BBC iPlayer?

I adore that film, seen it 2 or 3 times.

I like detective series especially the ones with a supernatural hint. I love Grimm, and several of the older ones like Murdoch Mysteries, Miss Fisher, Rebus, DCI Banks, ect ect.

The old movie “The Blind Side”, starring Sandra Bullock, is one of my all-time favorites. I’ve watched it so many times, along with The Notebook."

The Sandman - Netflix
Based on the beloved award-winning DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman.
A rich, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy woven together over the course of ten epic chapters(series 1) following Dream’s many adventures. When the Sandman, a.k.a. Dream — the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams — is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.
Most excellent series

Absolutely worth watching! A wonderful film based on a 1940s racism, and loss of a family member. Hauntingly touching, you will cry. Is a prequel to The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans.

I have to wonder who is the narrator who chooses what to show and if they put a spin on it…will they point out the truth and also all of the lies? A wondering mind would like to know. It won’t be on US television, I am sure.

I won’t be watching anyway. His entire presidency so far has been like a TV soap opera like Dynasty or The Bold and the Beautiful. :grinning:

I normally take myself off to bed at 10:30 pm but after starting to watch ‘Fall’ I had to watch it to the end…It frightened me death with some of the camera work, loose bolts and rickerty frame…
I went to bed (late) thinking ‘What would I have done’…
