Roberts poems (part 1)

Nice and I do agree with him …

Some days are devoid of fun
Who knows if this will be one
IT started in an ordinary way
Just like any other Autumnal day
Then clouds boiled up and burst
Flooding streets, and even worse
Flooding our little village pub
Where I have my usual grub.

Ah RJ … hope the sun shines on you soon x

Another day has come to a tired end
So I leave and say goodnight, my friends
This week has been a learning curve
I suppose we get the life we deserve
For us
I trust
Life events will move along
Hope for more things right than wrong.
Things will surely go our way
In the light of a brand new day

Yes - more rights than wrongs please …

I AM SPARTACUS.

I don’t know why this subject came up…

I am Spartacus and I fought the Roman world
Fighting injustice where my flag unfurled
I took the Romans by complete surprise
Stealing a victory before their very eyes
I crushed and destroyed them
Showing no mercy
But when the time came
Events turned down & dirty
They won in the end
Killing all of my men
In an orgy of death
It happened because
Of the Romans great wrath
For all claimed my own name
Over and over again
Saying
I am Spartacus

I am Adam
I was pure as snow
But the woman
Became not so
Tempted by the snake
She stole an apple
It was a mistake
Leading us to grapple
Cast out of Eden
To another region

The irony is
I tell you this

I don’t even like apples

Thanks for nothing snake
Now I’ve belly ache.

Love the film Spartacus and loved your poem RJ
As for ‘Adam’ - and your verse on he and she …

[CENTER]What makes you different to me
We’re quite alike, actually
My hair is grey, but was jet black
It’s still very thick, I do not lack
I would hate to be even a little bit bald
And put up with the cruel names I’d be called
The little jokes that plague the hairless
Thoughtless, callous and very careless
Does a baldy’s head get cold.
That is what I have been told
A hats a must when you’re thin on top
Comb it across , make it look like a mop.

Ah but , there’s the rub
The hairless are in an exclusive club
Super brainpower has worn hair out
Clever clogs all, roger, over & out.

That made me smile Robert… very good!

Just be happy
With your Grey Matter
It makes you think
Gives cause to Natter
Shouldn’t hold you back
If your head is Slap
You can make a Mint
Just ask Sepp Blatter

Is Sepp Blatter
Someone who matters
Now seventy seven
Soon be treading

Those heavenly boards
With harp like chords
In charge of football
Is that really all?

I have never like sport
Though I know that I ought
It’s so very boring
Soon has me snoring

I have other pastimes
Some good and quite fine
But I am always searching
Forgive me for lurking.

Omg … all your poems are out of this world …
there are no words to express my feeling …
all I can say … you all have a very special talent …

Well I’ll be buggered
Iv’e just discovered
That our neighbours both sides are moving
It’s just a coincidence
And in their own defence
I have to admit it is just proving

There is pent up demand
Right across this land
For young folks to want a roof o’er their head
But housing is dear
Especially round here
SO they are having to rent instead

My own children three
TO a similar degree
Are struggling to keep their heads above water
I help all I can
Though not a wealthy man
I plan to do what a father oughta.

Good for you RJ …

I haven’t posted on here lately, so here goes.

I woke up………again.

“Oh lord, I’m awake, and full of life too
I was snug and safe all through the night
So little time and so much to do
I have a bone to pick with you

Give my days to someone unloved
Someone, homeless and penniless too
Give him shelter warmth and food
Show him you care for him too.

The land is full of folks not caring
Building up a legacy of nought
Crying out, their souls now bearing
Life for them isn’t what it ought

This land is full of losers
Losers in the game of life
They say that beggars can’t be choosers
But that still doesn’t make it right.

Oh Robert - I’m almost lost for words !
So, I’ll simply say its beautiful - true and thoughtful … like you x
Really lovely …

Sorry, must be the whisky kicking in but then again…

I could easily re-write the above to be norty. Just asking forrit really ;-) .

Nice thoughtful poem.

Time for my cocoa.

THankyou Patsy for your kind words

Mark, you’ve lost me.

Every day I tread the Boards
At the mercy of the Lords
To others I inspire the thought
Oh Gawd
But they don’t know me
That I am flawed
But so are they
But they ignore.
