Ragdoll cats and kittens

Have got to watch Coco, today she has been walking around with one eye shut and its all runny, I have been bathing her eye several times today and its open at the moment, have looked in her eye and cannot see anything wrong in there, if it keeps up then I will have to book her in at the Vets, I see how she is tomorrow.

Do you like her big bushy tail Patsy?

She’s lovely all over
Hope she is better tomorrow, I have a weepy eye too at present, I must have known something !
Maybe something irritated her eye today - let me know tomorrow how she is …

Hi Patsy,

Coco is fine this morning, eyes wide open and playing, so no need for the Vets.

Good news
My eye has settled down too :-p

That’s good news Patsy.

You know Patsy, Coco was laying down next to me the other day, and I thought to myself, what is that horrible smell, IT WAS COCO’s PAWS!! CHEESY OLD SOCKS.

Oh no !!
Poor Coco - can’t be pleasant for her either - what will you do about that …?

Nothing Patsy, she’s just got smelly feet like humans, she is always washing inbetween her toes.

Ah - poor thing - can’t be pleasant or maybe she’s used to it …
Just saw an article on the news ‘fat cats and dogs’
Why do people do this to their pets, they can hardly walk …

Do cats get the interdigital cysts between their toes like some breeds of dogs are prone to? Or would trimming the hair off between her pads and letting the air circulate help?

Don’t know Mups, I do often give her an MOT, I look at her paws, ears, eyes, teeth and bottom and I do often trim the fur around her bum etc. and there doesn’t appear to be anything wrong with her at all.

When we were living in Woodford we had a Tabby cat called Billy and he weighed in at a Stone, but he was not fat, it was all muscle, he was very big boned, he had two friends next door, one called Boysey, who was quite thin but the other one called Brandy was 2 Stone in weight, he would eat everything, at the end he was so fat that he could not climb the fence and I used to give him a hand to get over, but when we came to live here, the Neighbour had told me that Brandy had died, and I was wondering if he died from being too fat!

Hi Susie
The cats and dogs I saw on the news, couldn’t even climb the stairs, so sad, these pets will die early :frowning:
There is a difference between big boned and pure fat, its the owners fault as they give so many treats in between meals. Its a good idea to air this on television as it will make pet owners think more on it - hopefully …

How peculiar. It doesn’t seem normal for a cat to have smelly feet unless she’s got an infection there or she’s trod in something

I agree with you about overweight pets. I have a friend whose cats (8) and dogs (3) are all overweight but she just can’t see it.
I suppose one problem with cats that go outside is they can easily double up on food you give them, by catching their own or begging from kindly neighbours.

Probably has something to do with a cat’s sweat glands being in its paws…

Ooo yes - makes sense, I’ve never smelt a cats paws, so I’m no expert, but Susie would know if theres a problem, so all is well I would say …

Oh - I’ve never used the word ‘smelt’ before - hope that’s right - oh - should it be smelled :-p

 Dunno Patsy, but we know what you mean.

Oh good
