The government already have Dex…Its called Net Zero. By introducing electric vehicles a lot of people will not be able to afford one. Most people drive a second hand vehicle which won’t be available in the future due to older electric vehicles requiring an expensive replacement battery. And even if you can afford an EV the cost of charging will be very expensive, and supply will depend on availability, that’s where your smart meter comes in…People will be rationed.
So you see Dex, wheels have already been set in motion…

Despite all the protests , and folk glued to roads and the governments promise that petrol car production will cease in 2030 … EVs as they stand now are rubbish. Too costly. Too unreliable. Still detrimental to the planet.
They will keep mining coal and drilling for oil and gas until the last teaspoonful has been extracted from the planet.
