No, joined as a boy soldier, got kicked out, after a little jail time, rejoined the Army at 18 and served for 27 years retiring as a WO2 Senior Military Instructor. So I know a bit about training
We are multicultural now, so, how would conscription work?
The same as it does now, each faith has its own church in basic training, dietary requirements are met with the cookhouse or restaurant as it’s now called, headwear and facial hair is permitted, I think you will find that most if not all regular soldiers view any idea of National Service with scorn…it’s is difficult to train people who really don’t want to be there and maybe taking out of a job they like and which pays more.
OMG!! Yes
But it was fun.
Of course
Loved nearly every minute of it, a quote from someone whose name I have forgotten, The British Army is a highly structuralised, stratified society, with extremely complex overlapping layers of rules, regulations and regimes, based around the premise of the massive use of force to achieve the aim , fuelled by sexual lust and alcohol
Would not disagree with that.
