My Own Personal Choice of Music

Love this guys music its always so calming.

The concept of drinking.
“Well you see, Norm, it’s like this . . . A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of alcohol eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few drinks”…

Hey bigfella, only just seen your Neil Diamond music a little way back.
Ooh, I loved that bloke for yonks - still got his music now.:023:

Hi Mups
Think I started buying ND’s music back in the early 70s I am I said I believe was the first I bought of his.
Great karma when things get chaotic…

Did you get his newer one released . . . was it 2015?

“Melody Road.”

I think I probably still love “Sweet Caroline” best though, always will. Can never resist singing along to that one.

I wonder why he made a very brief ‘come-back’ a year or two ago, then disappeared again? Perhaps he found it too much now, I believe he must be getting on towards 80 do you think?

I used to like earlier Elton John songs too.

OMG Mups I hope you weren’t expecting an instant reply I was fast a sleep by the time you posted your piece.
Just checked ND out with Wiki because I to wondered what happened to his revival. It seems that he tried to update his style and it may have backfired a little bit. Got a few bad reviews. Personally I think he should stick to his own style after all that is what his original fan base was built on and they are of an age where they want to see and hear the man himself not look at a load of multimedia extravaganza as stated.
He as a tour that supposedly started April this year. Heres hoping he gets bands and singers of his own era to guest on it and hopefully he will stick to what he knows best.

I think you should open a Neil Diamond Thread he deserves his own place.

Now Elton John yes I also loved his earlier sounds but I did not like the change he made to his style and music later and all the media story’s that followed him in the US.
He became more of a circus act showman than a singer songwriter to me.

Looking at this video of Pricess Diana’s funeral you get the feeling the reason why he may have moved across to the US was because he may have felt more excepted there than in England.
Even George Michael got questioned before they realised he was with EJ .
It makes you wonder if Elton was not singing would he have got an invite with his partner.

She had just had a hip replacement and was doing the daily excercises her doctors had told her to do.:lol:
