Hello Everybody; here’s the latest update on my cousin. I chatted with her on Thursday; on Facebook Messenger and she told me; that she’s in the process of obtaining medical assistance in dying because she doesn’t want to suffer later.
She saw her first doctor and 48 hours later; she saw another one. She already met with a social worker and everything is approved. All she has to do is decide on a date.
But it’s not right away because she’s not suffering too much, and she’s still in the right frame of mind.
Please, continue with your prayers

Hello Everybody; just chatted with my cousin, she went to see her Oncologist yesterday and was told that they are cancelling her Immunotherapy because he says that it would be pointless; and that it would only extend her life for about 2 months and may make her really sick so I asked her; what’s the next step and she told me to choose a date for the process of obtaining medical assistance in dying

This is going to be so tough on all concerned, heartbreaking… but she’s still in charge of her own fate, the when and the how, and I have to say now she sounds an incredibly strong and brave woman.
Be strong Didi … for yourself as much as your cousin and take care.

Hello Everybody; here’s an update, my cousin is not eating enough so, I think she’s planning on leaving soon with the process of obtaining medical assistance in dying.
It looks like there’s a blockage and so nothing is going in; apart from that she’s fine but, she’s getting weaker and weaker. My other cousin told me that; the reason for the blockage and everything is because there’s a small hole in her esophagus; that’s why there’s not much passing through. There are cysts that are blocked and they are inoperable.
So, now it’s just a matter of time; so sad and heartbreaking

I can never think of the right thing to say at such times but I understand how you must be feeling. It’s awfully sad to see a family member or friend nearing their time.

My cousin (Sylvie) forwarded to me the message from my other cousin (Yolande) who’s the one that has cancer and she has chosen the date; she has chosen Sept. 28th which is her father’s birthday; he passed away a long time ago but, that’s the date for now; she can always change her mind

I think your cousin (Yolande) is very brave and will spare you and family from her very sad and helpless end.
You will remember her from when you knew her at her best, and not as she was suffering…
