Corella Parents continue to care for their chicks for about 4 weeks after the fledging can leave the confines of the nest which is around the 7 week stage.
That 22 minutes of devotion is due to the mere four weeks that are required of that attention.
Meantime, the human mothers in the background are more likely to toss their offspring a bar of soap with a lecture about scrubbing properly since at about year thirteen, the gentle nurturing has lost it’s…umm…appeal .
