Minimum Wage increased by 5.2% to cover inflation

The Fair Work Commission has raised the national minimum wage by 5.2 per cent, which works out to be an extra $40 per week. Inflation is currently running at 5.1%. This raises the minimum wage from $20.33 per hour to $21.38. Casual workers get a 25% loading on top of this.

The Commission also increased the minimum award wage by 4.6 per cent or $40 per week — whichever is greater.
