Melancholy music

I like Mendelssohn’s ā€œSongs Without Words.ā€ I learned a few of them.
This one is called, ā€œSweet Remembrance.ā€

ā€œFur Eliseā€ is mostly melancholy. Beethoven was interested in a girl named ā€œEliseā€ & he wrote the song for her. Translated, it means For Elise. It didn’t work. She didn’t like him. :smiley:.
