Sad to read of her passing this morning, she’s one of my favourite authors. 
I love Hamish MacBeth and Agatha Raisin, I have every audio book in both of the Series.

We watched the TV adaptations of the Agatha Raisin novels and thought they were a little silly. Are the books actually like that, or did the scriptwriter(s) take liberties again?
No the books are nothing like that, nor is Agatha on the telly anything like the one in the books. She’s a Sybil Fawlty type character. The only one who is right is the wee cop Bill Wong. Her wee gay pal who used to work for her in London is more like Julian Clary. Also she runs a Detective Agency in the books. They are really good.

I have every one of the Agatha books on audio, they are read by Penelope Keith and she is just brilliant at bringing the characters to life. Same with the Hamish MacBeth books, so much better than the TV series. That totally wrecked them IMO.
I quite liked her Agatha Raisin Books, I wasn"t so keen on the Scottish ones.
