Man charged over Melbourne synagogue fire

Israeli President Isaac Herzog said the incidents were intolerable.

“Australian authorities must take all steps necessary to protect their Jewish citizens,” he wrote on social media platform X.

"Antisemitism is a stain on any society, and must be confronted with urgency and resolve.

Nothing to do with you murdering children in hospitals then?

It was interesting and perhaps unfortunate that the fire and the protest in the restaurant happened within a short time of each other but were apparently unrelated.

“Offensive chants” in a restaurant. How shocking!

Meanwhile in Gaza people get killed queuing for food.

I don’t think chanting , “Death to…” anyone is appropriate behaviour in a civilised society any more than I think Israel’s treatment of Gaza or West Bank citizens is civilised behaviour.

You’d think they would have learned from the reaction to Bob Vylan in the UK, chanting “Free Palestine” is one thing, “Death to…” is quite another. (As is arson)

Context is everything.

There wouldn’t be the chants if Israel weren’t massacring innocents.
