I will be visiting family in Australia over Christmas and am looking for gift ideas. I need to buy for 3 couples in their 20s, one couple in their 50s and my brother who is 80. Obviously it can’t be anything heavy and food and drink are also not an option. So any ideas?
If I were you, I wouldn’t take presents with me. I would buy something over there, take them out for a meal …
Unless there is something they wanted that not available down under. You need to ask them.
Aussies have been conditioned into thinking Vegemite is better than Marmite, so give a miniature jar to keep them alive and kicking.

I imagine our Australian forum members would be able to advise what goodies/gifts are readily available in in The UK but not in Oz.
Surely there must be something ![]()
Actually it’d be quite interesting to find out.
Australia is very strict on what can be taken into the country - not sure Marmite would be allowed!
toy Kangaroos and take one for Bruce as well
Having seen that Aussie TV show based at the airport with their immigration people. I would take great care what you take. As they have very strict import laws to protect their environment.
Not very orginal but how about “VOUCHER gift days” ie helicopter flight or similar. Spa day?Meal at a nice resturant? Theatre tickets? Tour of a sporting ground? Steam Train? Any vehicle driving> Day out at cricket football etc.Snorkling/river cruise.
If they have children maybe a handmade voucher saying you will babysit while they “go to the event”
Virgin do loads as do others
Maybe for your brother also a gift set of pictures from your childhood/youth etc in a nice album. Things to stir memories. Maybe a jigsaw depicting an event or similar or a football/sporting club momento from his youth.
