Local cafe trying to cash in

I think I can match that … what’s 14 Aus dollars? About £7 sterling?

In the village where I live there’s a very trendy coffee shop where they sell banana on toast with maple syrup and a host of heathly sounding little seeds scattered ontop. Cost. £7 … and that might be for one peice of toast not 2 rounds.

Daft thing is … the place always seems busy.

The reality is, there are plenty of people with a lot of disposable income who think nothing of paying these over-the-top prices.

I know … you can’t believe them can you … I must be real miserly in my outlook.

Naw, not at all. There’s places we won’t go now because of the price. Neither do we eat out as much. I still meet my girlfriends for lunch but now it’s once a month not every 2nd week. It’s all down to the high cost of living and refusing to be ripped off.

I’m very cheap and yet trendy!
A winning combination…
What’s the village pub like?

I’m going to sound grumpy now …

They’ve changed. They’re not what they were. Empty of fags but full of kids … no one plays darts or dominoes but the spitoons have gone too.

Makes you wonder how $14 will effect a youngsters credit rating.

This is the world they live in.

Seriously…when I was a kid on summer holidays my parents would often take me to a pub.
There would be family rooms and beer gardens.
I fondly reminice about those heavy duty stylish coke bottles with the twisty pattern straws.

Some memories are harder to bear…

Awful stuff!

I used to like that :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

The other week I tried that Dr Pepper stuff and that is vile.
Perhaps I’ve got weird taste buds.

These days in our village you have to be seen sitting outside a cafe drinking things like bubble tea. :grinning:

You absolutely haven’t!
Yet more awful stuff… it’s still widely available :open_mouth:
This stuff is worthy of the occasional sip…

They used to sell a different brand in little bottles in the chip shops, we used to bunk off school dinners :slightly_smiling_face::+1:

Caffè Nero & The Liquorist at Gunwharf Quays a coffee is £4.10 , today I had coffee and toast just one slice
Total £5.50, it’s becoming ridiculous .

We’ll be in there ourselves tomorrow. I was given a coffee club discount card which shaves off 25% of all coffee’s (but not anything else). Not much I know, but every little bit helps. Besides, I do like their pastries.

I love dandelion and burdock. I buy a small bottle in B&M for 59p. Lovely.
I think Spoons are good vfm breakfast wise. I sometimes have tea and toast, which is quite cheap.

Yes, I used to get it from B&M from time to time Jazzi.
Must have another look when I’m in town.

I tried a Dr Pepper for the first time, a while ago. I took one sip, OMG, it was terrible! Threw the whole can down the sink.

There used to be a Sarsaparilla Bar in our town.It was the place for pre-pub age teens to hang out.I didn’t like the taste much but they did sell American Cream Soda which was more my taste.

I like Sarsaparilla though I very rarely drink it these days.
