Often it is very windy in Rockingham, Western Australia.
The famous “Fremantle Doctor” makes a regular appearance along the south west coastline.
Not good if you are having a picnic on the beach but Kite Surfers love it.
Safety Bay Yacht Club, Safety Bay Rd, is where the action is.Most afternoons, especially Summer and Autumn, The Pond comes alive with a colourful display of Kites.
The Pond is a location renowned internationally for its mirror-like flat water conditions. Sea breeze winds are only slightly disturbed due to low sand dunes.
Kitesurfing combines aspects of board sports like surfing, wakeboarding, and snowboarding.
Kitesurfers use a specially designed kite and a board to ride on the water, propelled by the wind.
A real spectacle to behold.

We have a lot of that up here on the North Coast, My son tried it when he was here on a visit a while back. Said it was brilliant, but not for yours truly I like my feet on the ground, always have.

Watching up close, I think it would take quite a while to learn. Especially not ever having done surfing, wind surfing, etc.
So many people out on the course, relying on everyone being proficient lest collisions/entanglements.
Certainly not something to do if it’s busy, David does paddle boarding and a bit of surfing if the waves are big enough over at the coast. If I’d lived here when my two were kids I’d never have gotten either of them off the water lol.

I have not been in water deeper that my height since the movie Jaws.
