My dear ole mum lived in her sheltered housing flat for 16 months before she died. During that time she had a new kitchen. The warden told her she was entitled to some money from the council, for improving it. When she died the council ripped the kitchen out.
Wouldn’t it be great if you knew someone who could store your uplifted carpets until the new tenants move in and then offer them your old carpets at a knockdown price - at least they’d know they’d fit! I’m sure there’s a gap in the market there for some enterprising person with storage space
Hi pixie the flat was above my sisters . The council emptied the rubbish painted yet left filthy carpets. The new lady had them stripped out at her expense. The flat was in a bad way .
Nice area and nice flat now though and in Surrey a good low rent of £500 per month . Housing association so supplemented.
Sheba, that is a really good idea! The storage space would need to be huge, imagine all the addresses and cubby holes for the flooring to go in. But it could work as a community enterprise…get some funding from the lottery etc.
