Life for life’s sake is not enough.
One has to have something to live for. Some fine, elevating, rich experience.
A reason to rise in the morning.
That said, my life right now is work, sleep, work, sleep.
Not a rich experience at all.
I suppose I am endeavouring to build a nest egg for retirement. Then my “Rich Experience” can really begin.
Retiring to the Ausssie bush.
What is your rich Experience?
Wholeheartedly agree, just sleeping and working is not a rich experience as long as you describe it as a daily bread-winning routine. I never liked going out to work but I did try to make the most of it by looking at it from an enriching perspective and that was relating myself to other people and the requirements of the job. That was the interesting bit which, extended to my private life, may pass as my sense of life even.
My raison d’être is what it has been for decades; taking care of my little family and dogs. I fought nature fiercely for a solid decade dragging one child out of the clutches of a debilitating and nearly life-ending chronic disease, and that victory alone was good enough for me.
You have a fine goal, and I expect you will get there, Bretwick.
That was my aim as well to have a comfortable life in retirement. All the hard work over the 50 years taking job changing risks paid off big time.
setting a targets at each stage of life is the way to do it.
My rich experience was leaving a secure job going self employed -moving to a completely different part of the country taking over a failing business my wife and I had no previous experience in and turning it around into a profitable one
Best move we ever did
Since we are consigned to a life of wage slavery you have to find something you like doing or marry someone rich.Easier said than done,I know,I did have hopes for Princess Anne.
