It's the small things

I’ve been in Dubai for over a decade. This morning, my counter-top dishwasher arrived. We cannot modify the plumbing in our apartments, so I could never install a dishwasher. This thing only does maybe two place settings, and large pans are still going into the sink, but I ran my first wash with it, and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve already put away my dish drying racks (keeping one of the trays that miraculously fits neatly under the new dishwasher. I wish it got the water hotter, but 72 DegC (about 160 in real temperature) is better than what my sink does. I’m not thrilled with the drain hose. It’s too stiff, and won’t easily bend into shape. I’m going to do some Yankee Engineering to get it to stay put.

I know it’s a small thing - hence the thread title - but I’m quite happy I got it.

I can not believe you have survived in the 21st century without a dishwasher…
I don’t think you would have gone this long without a microwave Don… :009:

You don’t know how close I came to making the same type of comment in the original post. :grinning:

I vacuum almost every day. Sometimes I forget to bring up the app to turn on the robot vac. I also have a canister vac for under furniture, in nooks and crannies. Which brings up a very important point: Why don’t we ever talk about crannies by themselves? I mean, you can have a book nook without a cranny, but no one ever says anything about crannies wthout associating them with nooks.

We need cranny liberation to right this wrong.
