The programme used to hire the number plate “ST1” from a lady in Scotland I believe. It was a genuine reg number!
The Vantage - yes.
Came across them now and again in London a few years back.
The ground did indeed rumble when they were idling. When they shot off up the road, it was sheer music. One of the nicest sounding cars ever imo.
I was in London today and a Lambo was in the traffic. It was actually quite quiet and subdued when idling and moving slowly. The vantage sounded like it was doing 100 mph when it was ticking over…
Well, a properly tuned Italian 12 cylinder with the factory exhaust system is a true blood-rush at the flick of your toe upon the accelerator. Oddly, an early model straight 4 cylinder Kawasaki gives a similar “rush” at the sound of it. http://forum.turboduck.net/images/smilies/funandcrazy/drool2.gif
The rotting tin or the D-Type (I think it’s a D-Type). “School for Scoundrels” is one of my favourite films! I particularly enjoy the tennis scene … the racket as scalpel.
There are very few farce comedians I liked. Louis de Funés and Terry-Thomas were the only two. But very good they were! Are you familiar with what happened to Terry-Thomas? Not a pretty story, I’m afraid. Dreadful. Simply dreadful!
