I was surprised to see that Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud never made it to #1.

Sam Smith’s Stay with me also didn’t get to #1 on the charts.

Both have stood the test of time. Goes to show that hitting #1 at that time doesn’t mean a song is unsuccessful.
