A dredge was about to be taken out of the water and transported to Henderson for a major overhaul.
The retrieval began at 7.30am and was completed by 11.30am.

Before being trucked to Henderson it will need to be partially dismantled and those partes loaded onto another truck. The roads leading away from the Mary Street Lagoon Boat Ramp are too narrow, with 90° bends.

Is that dredging equipment for smaller areas like canals and dock areas?

Yes, it is used to keep entrances open. Remove sandbars that are constantly forming.
